Fran Drescher is a diversely accomplished career woman. She has found success in the fields of writing, producing, directing, creating, philanthropy and activism in the areas of health, arts, education, environment and civil liberties. She is a two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee for her performance in The Nanny, and her latest project is NBC’s Uninsured, a pilot from The Goldbergs executive producers Dan Levy and Doug Robinson. She is proficient in directing both multi-camera as well as single camera comedy and drama, and considers herself an "Actors’ and Writers’” director (having experience and success in both) with a keen eye for visual composition, which she attributes to being a fine art collector.
She has authored two New York Times Best Sellers, Enter Whining and Cancer Schmancer. Most recently, she penned a children’s book, Being Wendy, which celebrates a child’s uniqueness, and the foreword for Chicken Soup for the Soul's latest book, Facing Adversity. An almost 19-year cancer survivor and leading health advocate, Drescher founded the Cancer Schmancer Movement, whose mission is to educate, prevent and activate by transforming patients into medical consumers. As Public Diplomacy Envoy appointed by the US State Department, she takes her compelling personal survival story and mission statement for early detection and prevention to our allied nations and military globally. She was also extremely instrumental in passing by unanimous consent the Gynecologic Education and Awareness Act, the first of it's kind in U.S. history.
Fran Drescher is not only accomplished in her multi-faceted career, but considers life itself the greatest opportunity to grow into a more refined version of herself. She is committed to wisdom, tolerance, joyfulness, mindfulness and living in grace as a daily practice.
